Attachment Combination

The effective capacity of the forklift and attachment combined (“residual capacity”) may be less than the maximum capacity of the attachment specified on its nameplate.

The document entitled “Supplementary notes on the forklift-attachment combination” provides examples of a possible calculation method for determining the residual capacity.

The forklift manufacturer, who knows every technical and manufacturing detail of the individual model on which the attachment could be installed, has the responsibility to carefully check this method to validate the residual capacity calculation, taking into account the technical data of the attachment and any other information provided by its manufacturer.
